About Proposed Association of Friends of Barber Park
This website is by the proposed Association of Friends of Barber
Park. e.g. floaters.
Since 2012 Barber-Park.com has offered to represent
the interests and welfare of stakeholders in floating
from Barber Park. It is planned that the site can
be a centre to share information about activities,
business development, promotion and marketing in the
Park. Barber-Park.com aims to preserve, promote,
improve and facilitate businesses associated with
Barber Park.
If successful Barber-Park.com will organize
promotional events for visitors and tourists to the
Barber Park, for example there is a proposal to have a
Fancy Dress Float event, as well as a Wildlife Watching
Float. These would be annual events intended to
attract interest from around the world, create publicity
for the vendors and businesses around the park and generally
create a more favorable environment.
Stakeholders in the Barber Park including business
owners near the park, frequent visitors, and residents
and businesses in nearby communities.
They are all invited to be
associates of Barber-Park.com so that it can become a
more substantial force for the good of all. It is
planned that there should be 60 members to form an
Association and that this should include owners and
management, as well as nearby
attractions and facilities for visitors and tourists
such as restaurants.
Barber-Park.com is a privately owned and managed
organization.
The intention has always been to encourage
involvement with people who are passionate about the
potential for Barber Park to become an international
tourists destination. Tourists, local residents as
well as shop owners and managers are invited to
participate.
When sufficient interest has been received Barber-Park.com
will look into creating an association.
When fully incorporated the proposed Association will
aim to:
- Study and improve the economic situation of
Barber Park, through the use of surveys and
targeted promotions and marketing.
- Promote healthy business practices in
conjunction with the Boise and Idaho tourist
centers.
- Motivate and encourage residents and management
to develop and manage the potential of the park.
- Be a point of contact to encourage new business
alliances and special cooperation between
stakeholders.
- Represent businesses in the street in
negotiations with Government.
If you would like to put forward ideas to participate
in the proposed association please
contact us.
The park is managed by the Ada County. See their
website for more details.
